Objective and Curriculum of Vision & Ophthalmic Assistant program
The Vision & Ophthalmic Assistant course trains students to perform a variety of tasks to assist an eye specialist during eye examinations, maintaining records of patients, preparing, repairing spectacles, etc. In spectramind foundation , students receive training in a fully equipped Optometry lab, English training, and soft skill training, etc.

Apart from assisting an Optometrist, they also help patients in inserting and maintaining contact lenses, preparing the examination rooms, knowledge about the structure of the human eye and various diseases and infections affecting eyes.

The Vision & Ophthalmic Assistant course will carry the following topics:

  3. Dispensing optical prescription and spectacle lens accurately
  4. Obtaining the case history of patients
  5. Counselling and patient rights
  6. Follow the Biomedical Waste Disposal Protocol
  7. Assist eye specialist in the examination of patients
  8. Roles and responsibilities of a Vision Technician
  9. Basic Life Support
  10. Grinding and making of spectacles
  11. Common eye problems and infections
  12. Vision assessment of eye hospital-based patient
  13. Follow the Infection Control Policies and Procedures

DESCRIPTION
Assist Optometrist during eye examinations, diagnostics and corrective procedures
Help and prepare patients for the vision test
Maintaining records of patients
Preparing examination rooms and cleaning and arranging of equipment
Explaining patients about the usage and steps to caring of glasses and contact lenses
Scheduling appointments and taking care of data
