Passing the ServiceNow System Administrator Certification Exam demonstrates mastery of ServiceNow System Administration and certifies that a candidate has the skills and essential knowledge necessary to manage the configuration, implementation and maintenance of the ServiceNow system. 
 
Successfully passing this certification exam also establishes the core skill set necessary to pursue further certification for individuals interested in obtaining ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification.
 
Successful candidates for certification should have industry experience with database concepts and system management. Some knowledge of IT Help Desk processes and the incident, problem and change workflows is also helpful. Three to six months of experience using and maintaining an instance in ServiceNow is recommended.
 
Prerequisites
To be successful on this exam, attendees should have attended the ServiceNow System Administration class (3 days) and have at least two to three months of hands-on experience with ServiceNow, or have at least six months of hands-on experience with ServiceNow. This exam is mapped to the three-day ServiceNow System Administration Training. The individual learning objectives can be found here.

This course is designed for system administrators who are new to the ServiceNow ecosystem. During this 3-day interactive training course attendees will implement various system administration functions in their own instance, learning to perform fundamental administration and configuration tasks. Specifically, attendees will learn to:

  1. Perform core configuration tasks
  2. Work with User Interface (UI) policies, data policies, UI actions, business rules and client scripts
  3. Use mobile clients
  4. Activate plugins
  5. Add users, groups and roles
  6. Manage data with tables, the configuration management database (CMDB), import sets and update sets
  7. Work with two key process applications: Knowledge Base and ServiceNow Service Catalog
  8. Create workflow activities and approvals

  12. Create baseline performance metrics
  13. Run reports, configure service level agreements (SLAs) and perform instance branding and customization
  14. Integrate social IT elements and learn best practices

Attendees participate in real world, relevant lab exercises. The class features lecture and group discussions, as well as extensive hands-on practice, delivered in a wide variety of labs, tech talks and an interactive discussion of a comprehensive, real-world example.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for new ServiceNow System Administrators – 0-3 months into a new deployment.

Prerequisites

The ServiceNow Foundations eLearning course – six modules that introduce the ServiceNow platform and interface.

Certification

Following this course, ServiceNow recommends that attendees have at least two to three months of hands-on experiences with ServiceNow before attempting the Certification Exam.
