Spectramind Solutions, conducts this training program as an Open House Public Program as well as at the Corporate Trainings at their sites.

The objective of this program is to facilitate the participants for PMP® Certification and to gain 35 contact hours formal education certificate in project management. It is designed to develop basic knowledge to manage projects effectively, with respect to knowledge areas and process groups as described in PMI framework, published in PMBOK® Sixth Edition Guide. Comprehensive sections including questions on each knowledge area and processes are discussed in detail.

• The PMBOK® Guide. PMI published the PMBOK® Guide—Sixth Edition in on September 6th, 2017. The book is available in the PMI Bookstore and on Amazon. Per PMI, you can expect the following updates in the new edition of the PMBOK® Guide:
o “A new chapter on the role of the project manager has been added to focus on leading projects effectively – competencies, experience and skills that are all necessary.
o Two Knowledge Areas have been re-named to more accurately reflect which elements can be managed… and which can not:
• Schedule Management is now Schedule Management
• Resource Management is now Resource Management
o Every Knowledge Area features four new sections:
• Key Concepts
• Trends and Emerging Practices
• Tailoring Considerations
• Considerations for Agile/Adaptive Environments”

Learning Objective:

1. Establish a common vocabulary and understanding of basic Project Management terms and concepts as in PMBOK® Guide – Sixth edition, viz. project, project management, stakeholders, earned value, scheduling techniques, and project managers’ responsibilities and competencies.

2. Describe the purpose, inputs, and outputs of the processes in each of the five Process Groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, Closing.

3. Define the 9 Project Management Knowledge areas & explain the relationship of Process groups, knowledge areas, project phases, project & product Life Cycle.

4. Understand the importance of Project Charter, Scope Statement, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Responsibility Matrix, Network Building, CPM.

5. Demonstrate a clear understanding of what activities, tools, & techniques, are necessary in each phase of a project & understand the PMP® examination nuances.

6. Understand, acknowledge & appreciate importance of Risk management, Procurement Management, Resource Management.

March 26, 2018 – PMP and PMI-ACP Exams will be changing on this date. After this date, you may no longer take a 5th edition test, only 6th edition tests will be administered.

Who should attend?
Any person having 4500 hrs and 36 months of unique non-overlapping project management experience leading and directing project tasks and holding a baccalaureate or global equivalent university degree, or he/she should have 7500 hrs and 60 months of experience if he/she does not hold a baccalaureate or global equivalent university degree.
