Certified data center professionals Certification

Introduction

This 2-day course designed to expose participants to the key components of a Mission Critical Data Centre, its operations and maintenance. The course will also provide tips on how to improve current Data Centre effectiveness and maintenance routines affecting Data Center performance in order to improve high availability.

With few exceptions, enterprises today rely on IT for the delivery of business-critical services - often directly to the end consumer. It is therefore vital that the mission critical data centre is designed, maintained and operated with hi-availability and efficiency in mind. Fact is how- ever that most Data Centre's do not meet the full avail- ability, capacity, safety or efficiency requirements often demanded. The ever changing technologies put even more pressure on data centre managers along with the ever faster pace at which these changes are required.
The Certified Data Centre Professional course is a two- day course designed to expose participants to the key components of the data centre. It will address how to setup and improve key aspects such as power, cooling, security, cabling, safety, etc. to ensure a hi-available data centre. It will also address key operations and mainte- nance aspects.

Audience
The primary audience for this course is an IT, facilities or Data Centre Operations professional working in and around the data centre and having the responsibility to achieve and improve hi-availability and manageability of the Data Centre.
Participants who have limited understanding and involvement in Data Centre's operations but have the need to understand the key components and aspects of mission critical Data Centre facilities operation and maintenance at an introductory or foundational level. This would include such persons as: IT Service Delivery Managers, IT Marketing & Sales Reps, IT Department Managers, etc.

  • System integrators involved in data centre IT operations activities, serving their own data centre or as owned by their customers
  • Facilities management companies who manage building facilities in which a data centres are located
  • Outsourcing providers whom manage their customers equipment of which some or all equipment is located within a data centre
  • Hosting/IDC/Co-location sites which are responsible for running data centre IT operations for their customers’ equipment
  • Private persons who want to gain qualification in data centre IT operations management
  • Personnel working in commercial companies who are responsible for data centre IT operations
  • Commercial customer who have to maintain their own data centre

Prerequisites
While there are no specific prerequisites for the CDCP® course, participants who have at least one/two year(s) of actual working experience in a Data Centre/facilities environment are best suite
